Behind The Seams : Mwende Malinda - Marketing and Content Manager
If she's stranded on an island in the middle of nowhere and can order only one meal from any of Nairobi’s food restaurants she'd go for Sierra Burger and Wine's cheeseburger and fries. We had a quick sit down with Mwende Malinda, and got to know a few things about her and her role as a Marketing Content Manager at Vivo.

I'm a bubbly creative that loves all things food!
What does a normal Monday morning look like to you?
Catching up on reports and planning for the week.
What do you like most about what you do?
I work with really cool people! :)
What is the most challenging thing about what you do?
Every day comes with different challenges so I'm not sure I can pick one.
You’ve been in this role for a while now, what strengths (and/or weaknesses if any) has this role brought out in you?
I'm more resilient and I've developed a hunger to learn.
What are some non-negotiables that you look for when selecting a team-mate?
They must be good-natured.

What does her team have to say about her?
Mwende lights up the room. In a subtle but significant way. We admire her leadership methods. As much as she is our leader, she is also our friend. She trusts us to execute our roles and because of that we try our best to perform over and above. Mwende is always looking for a way to simplify processes and systems to make our workflow as seamless as possible. She's a natural giver and listener. We love that she recognizes our efforts and doesn't miss out on a chance to compliment us.
